A pilot NBS for Higher Education Institutions' sports facilities was piloted earlier this year. Twelve universities participated, and benefited from comprehensive information on the visitor groups using their sports facilities, the finances and utilisation of the facilities, and customer satisfaction. The information included their own scores compared with benchmarks drawn from the twelve participating universities. The overall results of the pilot have been presented to the Northern Universities Recreation Managers Group, and the BUCS national conference. To view the pilot please click here
The NBS partners (Sport England, Leisure-net/Right Directions, and Sheffield Hallam University) are working to ensure a continuing NBS for the HE sector in the future. For details contact JLIB_HTML_CLOAKING

A new and improved version of Sport England’s National Benchmarking Service (NBS) is being launched today.
The updated NBS remains dedicated to providing critical data on site performance to sports and leisure centres, but sites can now opt for three different options, each at a substantially lower cost, to ensure the NBS is affordable for the majority of facilities.
The second Quest Conference is to be held at Holywell Park, Loughborough, and this year it
incorporates NBS as well. Taking place on the 1st March 2012, it only costs £45 per person exclusive
of VAT, and this includes lunch and an awards ceremony to celebrate success in both Quest and NBS.
